“A ROUND IDEA.”
Argentina is a consumer par excellence and its flavor is intimately rooted in the local gastronomic culture. The idea is of Arab origin and traditionally consisted of a base of almond paste, nuts and honey. Then it was introduced in Spain, when King Rodrigo was overthrown by the Arabs. Since then, the Arab influence marked for centuries the development of Spanish culture, which, among other customs, adopted the typical pastry.
Immigrants subsequently brought him to these lands more than 130 years ago. But a man, a pioneer, gave it a distinctive and distinctive touch. The French chemist Augusto Chammás opened a small candy factory in Argentina and produced a round alfajor within the products. A novelty for the time, which changed the concept of alfajores in the world.
